Clitocybe costata Kühner & Romagn.
rinvenuti 14 esemplari in tratto con Pseudotsuga menziesii e Fraxinus, su substrato sassoso-argilloso ricco di carbonati, specie caratterizzata dal cappello freguentemente fibrilloso-rugoloso e margine costolato , le lamele bianco-cremastre nettamente decorrenti e gambo concolore al cappello sovente claviforme. Una peculiarita' poco citata in letteratura sono le rizomorfe presenti alla base del gambo.
Da notare anche che nella presente collezione molte spore erano notevolmente piu' grandi nella media (9-11 my,), originate da basidi bisporici-monosporici.
Questi due esemplari si sono rivelati completamente sterili in microscopia con Basidi grossolanamente difformi !

Sorry, I do not speak Italian and thus write to you in English.
I found your beautiful pictures of Hymenoscyphus albidus in this forum and this motivated me to write to you!
In Vienna we are presently working on the emerging, serious dieback of Fraxinus excelsior caused by Hymenoscyphus pseudoalbidus that is now widespread in continental Europe (but only locally distributed in Italy so far). The pathogen has been described only recently and found to be distinct from the apparently native, but morphologically identical Hymenoscyphus albidus (Queloz et al. Forest Pathology 2011).
A Ph.D. student of ours is aiming to examine herbarium specimens of H. albidus / H. psudolabidus in order to clarify to which species they belong to. She intends to investigate the specimens both morphologically and with molecular markers.
I therefore wanted to ask you, whether you do not only have pictures of H. albidus (sensu lato), but also herbarium specimens of the fungus? If yes, would you be willing to share them with us? The molecular investigations would require that some apothecia and/or parts of the pseudosclerotial plates present on the leaf petioles / rachises are removed and processed. Therefore, I also wanted to ask whether such investigations would be OK for you, should you possess specimens.
