That is as I had thought would be the case. I do have the specimen but my poor manual dexterity makes it difficult for me to manipulate specimens without damaging them.

In this group the only possibility until now in Malta is Oedemera crassipes, female. You can check, for confirmation, both shape of pygidium and last sternite of abdomen; the first is much more longer than last sternite (in other species of group is not so) and last sternite ends with the apex little emarginate at centre, not rounded as in lurida or monticola; monticola is surely absent and virescens lives in non xeric habitat.
