Oggetto: Larva di Oryctes nasicornis Larva di coleottero fotografata sulla spiaggia di Tarquinia lido, in Maremma quindi. Di che coleottero si tratta?

l'aspetto si direbbe di Oryctes nasicornis, non hai dato indicazioni sulla dimensione ma a occhio direi abbastanza grande, puoi dare un occhiata a questo mio post

Per quanto riguarda le dimensioni sarà stata 4-5cm di lunghezza e 1e qualcosa circa di larghezza, bella grossetta

It, certainly, larvae Dynastinae, but you have forgotten to specify their size. If to you it is not difficult, write, please. In this case, they very much remind larvae Pentodon sp., or even Phyllognathus sp.?

Nimrod, according to Spidermorfeo te size was about 4-5 cm, so we can be certain that it is Oryctes nasicornis. It is too large for a Phyllognatus. Pentodon are not found on beaches, at least in Italy. Oryctes nasicornis on the other hand, is common along beaches under logs.

All is true, it O. nasicornis, but because of haste, I plainly have not written the thought rather Pentodon and Phyllognathus. The matter is that epistome the given larva it is very similar to that at Phyllognatus, and still well developed genal setae. And from Pentodon idiota - the developed crests. For the first time I see such similarity between representatives of different sorts in larvae!
Here I have forgotten to add it, unfortunately, last time, you forgive...
