I'm trying to find the origin of the name Supella longipalpa

longipalpa is look more simple = Long palps?

for The Supella I was found only "Supellex" = Latin for household goods and furniture

Credo che l'analisi di Amir sia corretta.

Il genere Supella fu introdotto da Robert Shelford nel 1911.

In Proceedings of The Academy of Natural Sciences Vol. XCIX, 1947 pag.60 c'è una spiegazione:

E questa è la descrizione di Shelford in Ent. mon. Magazine 1911, 47:155

Trovo verosimile che Shelford si fosse basato sulla specie-tipo anche per nominare il nuovo genere, Blatta supellectilium Serville 1839, che passando al nuovo genere divenne Supella supellectilium (Serville, 1839).
... Ma vi era già una descrizione del 1798 ad opera di un "certo" J. C. Fabricii, come Blatta longipalpa

(vedi pag.185 del Supplementum Entomologiae Systematicae).
Ecco quindi l'attuale combinazione: Supella longipalpa (Fabricius, 1798)

P.s.:
Del genere Supella mi risultano 3 sottogeneri:
Mombuttia con una specie, Nemosupella con 4 specie e Supella con 5.
Se interessa a qualcuno (... mhm ...) posso inserire la chiave per discriminare i 3 sottogeneri.

Although its not important for my need its definitely interesting to know what I have here at home

I work on a post for my blog on the Supella longipalpa and I'm looking after interesting facts or spicy knowledge regarding this species apart of the regular info I can find in the web or books
