E' un Carabidae, ma non del genere Carabus.
Non ti so dire se sia un Abax o uno Pterostichus. Bisogna aspettare un esperto ...

I Carabidi non sono certo il mio forte...anzi, tutt'altro!!
Comunque posso dirti che al 100% non si tratta di un Carabus.
Sembrerebbe uno Pterostichus o qualcosa del genere.....
P.S. - vedo ora che anche Luigi la pensa come me! |

That's genus Abax. If there is no similar species occuring in Italy, than this is Abax parallelepipedus in my mind.

An information about the size of the beetle could be very helpful.

ciao ragazzi 
è un Abax, e dalla sagoma generale direi con ogni probabilità Abax continuus, anche se per averne la certezza bisognerebbe poter vedere se l'ultimo articolo dei tarsi, quello che porta le unghie, inferiormente è glabro (continuus) oppure provvisto di setole (parallelepipedus - ex ater)

in this case, the size is not important; continuus and parallelepipedus are quite similar in size, on the other hand none of the smaller Abax spp. does occur in that area |

Abax continuus is an italian endemic, most closely related to A. parallelus, yet distinctly larger, more or less the same as A. parallelepipedus
as i said above (but in italian ) the onychium beneath is glabrous in continuus, setose in parallelepipedus; moreover continuus is usually more slender, yet this is not a fully reliable feature
continuus is even more similar to Abax fiorii (formerly reported as angustatus), another italian endemic, yet restricted to a different area (lombardy prealps); also fiorii, as parallelepipedus, has the onychium setose
p.s. i see now, in the second and third photos, another feature, allowing to definitely confirm continuus  : the lateral rim of pronotum posteriorly is thin and quite uniform in width, while in parallelepipedus it distinctly thickens just before hind angles; in fiorii it is similar to continuus, this seems the only reliable external feature to distinguish parallelepipedus and fiorii |
