Can somebody help me out with the ID of the attached gurnard from Cyprus please. I know that there are here in the Forum similar images were posted but somehow I did not come to a conclusion. All images show the same fish but in different shape.

Ciao! Thank you for your statements. The main reason why I rose this question was that in one of my books Bergbauer/Humberg "Was lebt im Mittelmeer" is the image of an individual that could be the sibling of mine.
But they refer there in the book this species as "Lepidotrigla cavillone". So it might be there a misidentification. In the second edition of the same book there is in my opinion an other misidentification for the Cnidaria "Telmatactis forskalii" that is more likely "Telmatactis cricoides". Both of these species are common in Cyprus.
