Yeah, you are right Albert. It is an old male and it is getting covered with the blue pruiosity, just like the other Orthetrum species.
I have never seen one but their abdomen is almost black when mature, isn't it?

Hi Alida.
Many thanks for pointing that out. You are quite right, when I saw it it seemed to be completely black, and at that time I thought it was a different species.
I have processed the image again and it turns out that I overexposed it the first time. This is how it really looked in like.

Hi Albert,
I thought that the first picture was somewhat over exposed. However even so the thorax looks too bright, which I find unusual. Normally the thorax is quite dark.
I attach two pictures of males for Alida's sake!

in my opinion  your individual is a very old female
terminal appendages are parallel and straight, in a male they should be more convergent and slightly sinuate before apex |
